science. Includes
a basic survey of exercise physiology, nutrition,
health-related fitness, performance-related fitness, sports
medicine, biomechanics, sports psychology, motor learning, and
motor development is included. (for PE majors with Exercise
Science emphasis)
Indicate
in catalog that PE 200 is for teaching certification and Sport
Management emphases. Add PE 240 Foundations of Exercise
Science and indicate that it is for the Exercise Science
emphasis only.

current course, PE 200 Foundations of Physical Education,
meets the introductory needs of PE teaching certification
majors and those in the Sport Management emphasis.
However, it does not meet the needs of those students
in the Exercise Science emphasis.
The proposed course will offer a basic overview of the
career options and knowledge content necessary for the field
of Exercise Science. |
